Arlington Memorial Bridge
A landmark demolition project featured in CSDA Magazine.
The Challenge
The Arlington Memorial Bridge is a 90-year-old structure carrying 68,000 vehicles daily between Arlington National Cemetery and the Lincoln Memorial. Deteriorated concrete deck and structural elements needed replacement without closing the bridge. The project demanded precision demolition in a highly visible, historically significant location with active traffic, strict environmental controls, and zero margin for error.

The Solution
CTS deployed wire sawing and Brokk robotic demolition for precise, controlled removal. Work was sequenced around active traffic lanes to maintain flow across the bridge at all times. Dust and vibration management was critical given the proximity to Arlington National Cemetery and the National Mall. The Brokk robots provided electric-powered, zero-exhaust demolition that met the strict environmental requirements of the location.
