Concrete Cutting

Flat sawing, wire sawing, and track sawing for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Flat Sawing

Flat sawing — also called slab sawing — is the most common method for cutting horizontal surfaces. A diamond blade is mounted on a self-propelled walk-behind machine that rides on the concrete surface, delivering straight, precise cuts for expansion joints, utility trenches, pavement removal, and demolition prep.

  • Cutting depths up to 24" in a single pass
  • Diesel, electric, and hydraulic power units available
  • Ideal for roads, parking decks, floors, and bridge decks
  • Wet cutting for dust suppression and blade cooling

Wire Sawing

Wire Sawing

Wire sawing uses a continuous loop of diamond-impregnated cable driven by a hydraulic power unit to cut through concrete and steel of virtually unlimited thickness. The cable is threaded through pre-drilled holes and guided by pulleys, allowing cuts in locations and at angles that no other method can reach.

  • Virtually unlimited cutting depth
  • Cuts through massive concrete and steel structures
  • Bridge piers, foundations, dams, and reactor containments
  • Minimal vibration — safe for adjacent structural elements

Track / Wall Sawing

Track sawing — also called wall sawing — uses a diamond blade mounted on a track-guided carriage bolted to the concrete surface. This method delivers precise, controlled cuts on vertical walls, overhead surfaces, and angled planes where flat saws cannot operate. It is the go-to solution for door openings, window penetrations, HVAC chases, and elevator shaft modifications.

  • Vertical, horizontal, and overhead cuts
  • Track-mounted for repeatable precision
  • Openings for doors, windows, HVAC, and mechanical chases
  • Clean edges that require minimal finishing

Cutting Method Comparison

Choosing the right method depends on your application, depth requirements, and site conditions.

Method Best For Max Depth Power Source Speed
Flat Sawing Horizontal surfaces — floors, roads, decks 24"+ per pass Diesel, Electric, Hydraulic Fastest for slabs
Wire Sawing Massive structures — bridges, foundations Unlimited Hydraulic Moderate (high precision)
Track / Wall Sawing Vertical & overhead — walls, openings Up to 25" Electric, Hydraulic Moderate (precision cuts)
